Do parents need to create an account to buy a square?
No. Parents (or their friends/family) visit the fundraiser link, pick a square, and pay. No app download, no account, no friction. They get a confirmation email with their square number.
Can we collect payment by bank transfer or cash instead of card?
Yes. You can accept online card payments, BSB bank transfers, or cash in person. You choose which payment options to enable, and the platform tracks who has paid regardless of method.
Can multiple P&C/P&F committee members help manage it?
Yes. With an Organisational Membership you can add committee members as contributors who can mark squares as paid, monitor sales and manage campaigns alongside you.
How does the draw work?
You run the draw whenever you're ready. Lucky Squares randomly picks a winning square (or squares if you have multiple prizes) and notifies the winner/s automatically. You can do it live at assembly or the school fete, and it only takes about 30 seconds.
Are Lucky Squares fundraisers legal for school fundraising in Australia?
Yes. Rules vary by state, but most community Lucky Squares fundraisers fall under low-value trade promotion or minor gaming exemptions. Read our compliance guide or check with your state's gaming authority. Your school's P&C/P&F may also have existing fundraising permissions in place, so check with your principal or business manager.
What if we don't sell all the squares?
You can run the draw at any point after you've raised enough to cover your prizes: there's no requirement to fill the grid. Set a closing date and draw from the squares that were sold.
What's the difference between a P&C and a P&F?
Both are parent committees that support their school communities. P&C (Parents and Citizens) is the term used in NSW, QLD, and ACT; P&F (Parents and Friends) is used in SA, WA, VIC, TAS, and NT, especially in Catholic and independent schools. Lucky Squares works for both.
